RESIST by Jeffery Martin Botzenhart
This was such an amazing read!
It is set in Europe that is on the brink of WWII, our protagonist a German soldier named Rutger has been given a task by his commanding officer. This mission finds him in Vienna, where most of the story takes place. I felt instantly connected to Rutger because right away you could tell that he was a gentle soul. He was definitely one of my favorite things about this novella.
Rutger finds that he has an unlikely and unusual ally in the form of a mysterious woman. I love the fact that there is a woman who seems capable, smart and totally kick ass.
I really love the tension and secrecy of the time period too. This is a spy/mystery novella so I will not say anything else because I fear I will spoil you. This novella was easy to read, flowed seamlessly and had me turning the pages with no regards to my daily chores. Engrossing, that is why I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes spy novels or WWII period novels or anyone interested in the affairs of the heart. Great, really great and fast read.
